Hello, friend. How's it going? This was supposed to be delivered yesterday. I'm sorry it is coming in late. I had an issue with my phone. It's been fixed though, Alhamdulillah.
I got back from class not long ago. The power supply has been interrupted. It's so hot here. I can't help but chuckle when I recall that, by this time some weeks ago, bathing in the early hours of the day felt like a severe punishment. It was just too cold. Warm baths make little or no difference.
Now, today, I felt like staying in the bathroom for all hours of the day. When it comes to the weather, it's usually extreme in the north. This town is located on the outskirts of the northern state, hence the intensity. I am hungry but too drained to eat. Strange?
I've been thinking. Thinking about how intentions meet contradictory reactions even when the actions went as planned.
It's so strange and unbelievable when things just do not go on as schemed. You know, at times, life throws us off balance when we least expect. Getting ourselves back might take a lot of time, and some valuable pieces of our sanity (if not all).
This is the same EVEN when you take precautions! Just like the weather, things do change.
Come on, having insurance over your building doesn't prevent arson, does it? Of course not! The insurance exists. Yeah, e dey there. If the building would burn, probably due to an accident, it would do so without any impediment. Even if the insurance would cover up for the loss, the deed has been done.
Another instance is when we identify our health risk factors and take appropriate precautions. Things like, "Stay hydrated, take fruits, naps, sleep well, eat a balanced diet, do X, don't do Y..."
This won't stop our body from betraying us when we're in dire need of energy and sound health. It would do so with little or no warning whatsoever. E be things sha.
Our favourite person failed us, our pets got injured and didn't survive it, we misplaced our belongings, our relationships didn't work out, ….
Incidences like these have happened and still would. “IT, TOO, SHALL PASS.”
However, when this ensues, it's not healthy to frown and say "why me?" Get up and face the challenges.
Try hard not to allow it to weigh you down. Say, "catch me if you can. Try me!"
The fact is, this isn't easy. As much as I'm trying to be succinct with my words, I'm ensuring to keep it as honest and blunt as possible!
These should help
Ensure to stay motivated every single day. Surround yourself with people, actions, objects, applications that motivate you; that spurs the acting champ in you; that inspires you to do more and more.
Read self-help books, read biographies of legends. Most of the leading heroes didn't have it easy at first. They didn't start with the same level of achievements they have presently. Their hard work and attitude towards greatness brought about their greatness. The path might not be interesting at first; it might not be translucent, but with the right attitude, you would overcome. BELIEVE!
Here's a little genuine checkup from my desk to yours.
How are you doing? How's studying? Working? Everything in general?
I have a little task for you.
Reflect by projecting into the future. Imagine you being the person you want to be already. Just imagine. What does it feel like? Grand? Scary? Unbelievable? Fulfilling?
You know what it feels like, and you know what it requires. Do the needful.
Stay strong. For you. For me. For everyone else.
I hope you love this newsletter as much as I do. If so, please share with your friends. Thanks in advance.
Have a great week and month.
Love,
