Hello, my good friends. I hope you have been good. Today's newsletter would be short but concise, my apologies.
To begin with, I got the title inspiration from Seye. Seye is a digital marketer at Career Buddy, a platform that connects individuals through impactful career and entrepreneurship development.
Only the living can make a living because life is for the living. In essence, rest when you can.
For someone who is a huge fan of productivity, I have realised over time that time spent on an activity isn't the only measure of productivity. Why? In Deep Work, a book by Cal Newport, he explained how deep work which can be likened to productivity is the product of the time spent on an activity and the intensity of focus. And not just the time spent (that which might be pseudo).
It's not enough to always neglect the essentials your body needs to function well at the expense of being productive. Prioritize your health. Eat well, and stay hydrated. Smile more, be good to people, and do great work. Always remember that making a living is for the living.
On mental health.
Gloria once said, “know when it gets hot and choky so you can unplug.”
How are you? What troubles your innocent mind? Is it the happenings around the country? The toxicity of social media? Is it your immediate or external environment? Your spiritual life? Or financial life? Or something far away from these.
No matter how much you try, some things are not going to change themselves by talking about them. Scream all you can. It's just the way it has been. Sad? Maybe. Maybe not.
If you are the one who wants everything and everyone to change except yourself, then you should have a rethink. YOU are YOU, and you are the easiest person to change. Change your attitude towards whatever it is that is holding you back from being happy and fulfilled. Do you need a break to sort things out? Do ask for one. Do you need to be alone to consult your inner self? Just do it.
Life is for the living. It's all about ourselves now. Someday, we'll be long gone and forgotten. Let's live while we can.
Till the next time,
Roqeebat Bolarinwa.
Thank you, sis.❤️ Taking care of ourselves is another level of productivity. When we care for our health, we can function effectively.🌹🌹🌹
Hmmm… thoughtful reminder that we are living and we need to look after ourselves as much as we push to achieve our goals.. nice one!
