We've been wired to believe that being in a technological advanced world requires that we should get everything done... and done fast!
Might be unrelated, but the speed that the technology must always offer us has influenced every of our thinking that we get infuriated each time it doesn't work that way. It has given a room for focus and attention deficit which comes into the picture when mindfulness during actions is absent.
Tecnology has brought out that part of mankind that is more of result-oriented than process-oriented. And truly, we cannot always beat the process; that's if we can at all.
There can be shortcuts brought about by critical thinking to make life easy. However, paying attention to details while being mindful is an integral part of the process that we shouldn't neglect. Mindfulness has been discussed previously on this newsletter, so, you can read it here.
I was discussing with my brother last week, and he had mentioned the idea of including a book recommendation at the end of every newsletter. I love the idea, and I know you would, too.
For this week, I'll be recommending a book that got its way on merit into my top 5 books of 2021. It is 13 things mentally strong people don't do, by Amy Morin.
Book Snippet.
Many times we don't seem to be conscious of the things we do. We don't like them, and are tired of doing them. We want to stop resentment, low self-esteem, feelings of being depressed and mentally weak. We really want to. But how? Find out the answers to this in the book. I'll be glad to hear your reviews when you're done reading!
Eid Mubarak, awesome people. May Allah accept it from you and I. Next week, by God's grace, I’ll be talking about some ideas that have been manipulated into the system; ideas that have been considered the normal, even when they aren’t entirely so. It’s free, and it would hold on whatsApp. If this sounds like what you’ll be interested in, then you should click here.
Stay fine, stay happy. Sending virtual hugs to every frail and worried mind out there.
Your friend,
Roqeebat Bolarinwa.
Aameen. Paying attention to details... Thanks for this! Jazakumullah khayr.
Thank you, sis. ❤️
Truly, we have most times neglected the act of mindfulness and I can't wait to read the book you just recommended.
