We’re in the first week of the first month of the year 2022. Written your goals for the year yet?
New year resolutions…sounds familiar? Your new year goals can only be achieved with the right attitude. Your attitude is a product of your thoughts, which leads us to think. Not just thinking, but thinking big!
Thinking big is beyond thoughts. It covers strategic planning, taking action towards that greatness.
There is a huge difference between "I want to memorise 4 structures of the amino acid before next Friday" and "I have started memorising the 4 structures of the amino acid, I should be done on or before Friday."
The first statement is borne out of fantasy—you know how great it is if you memorise the structures. However, you haven't taken action.
The second is that of thinking big, making strategic plans, and taking actions to achieve that thought.
How often do you take action after making a wish? That which you aim to become; that which you admire—which makes you grin with delight each time you think or hear about it, how well are you working towards it? How hard? How perseverant are you when the results got aren't what you expected? Do you learn from your mistakes and vow not to repeat them or do you hiss with fury, complain and stop working as hard as you've been doing?
Thinking big does not equalise immediate results. Trust the process. Your mother didn't give birth to you the same day you were conceived.
Even if things aren't working out the way you want them to, do not give up on that huge dream. Take a deep breath, try a new strategy, and try again. Try harder.
No matter how little, try to show up. Put in more effort and do not forget the need to pray hard, too.
Summary.
Do not just think. Take actions.
Even if you feel unmotivated to take action, try showing up.
Most importantly, think big!
Do not forget the need to stay safe.
